Armenia to approve five-star deluxe category for hotels

YEREVAN.- Armenia will approve five-star deluxe category for hotels.
The draft decision was presented by Deputy Economy Minister Ara
Petrosyan.
During the government session, Petrosyan presented draft amendments to
the Law on Tourism and Tourism Activities and to the Law on State Tax.
A new category of hotels is offered in order to develop luxe tourism
market. Economy Ministry's licensing agency is classifying hotels in
Armenia. Tax for `Five-Star Deluxe' category hotels will be set at
about $3.6 thousand per year.
The Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter was told there are only two
five-star hotels in the Republic.
