YEREVAN, AUGUST 20, ARMENPRESS: Armenian men's team will compete for
at least the first three places and the women's team for at least the
first five places in the 40th International Chess Olympiad, which is
scheduled to take place from August 27 to September 10 in Istanbul. In
an interview with Armenpress Armenian Chess Federation Deputy
Chairman, Referee on the international level, Istanbul Chess Olympiad
Administrative Committee President Ashot Vardapetyan came forth with
similar assessment. `Victory in a chess Olympiad tournament is the
most honorary rank for a chess-player, to play here the chess team
must have a very high level,' he said.

The administrative committee headed by Vardapetyan will be engaged in
teams' data and other technical issues . By the way for the first
time electronic format will be used for it in trial order.

Armenian chess-players are currently preparing for the Chess Olympiad
    in Tsakhkadzor.
