Flax seed oil production launched in Lori region

A total of 7 tons of flax seeds were harvested from 7 hectares in
Artagyugh community (Lori region of Armenia) in 2012. 1550 liters of
oil was obtained from the seeds and sold in Yerevan, Vanadzor and
Spitak. These results were published during Armenian Agriculture
Minister Sergo Karapetyan's working visit to Lori region.
The Ministry's press service told ArmInfo that Karapetyan familiarized
himself with the flax seed oil production launched in 2012. In Spitak
the minister familiarized himself with the course of implementation of
the grant project on development of buffalo breeding and production of
dairy from buffalo milk.
Sergo Karapetyan also met with the leadership of cooperatives and
communities of Lori region, which manage the cattle-breeding component
of a World Bank-funded program on agriculture development.
The minister also visited the agricultural market organized in Kentron
administrative district of Yerevan jointly with the Municipality of
Yerevan. This is already the second agricultural market in Yerevan,
which works on Saturdays and Sundays. The first one was launched in
Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan.
