YEREVAN.- Armavia Armenian National Carrier will be sold to Italians,
informed Armenian News-NEWS.am sources. To check the information we
contacted press secretary of `Armavia' Nana Avetisova who refused to
make any comments on the topic. Recently media outlets have released
information about selling Armavia. Armenian National Carrier will go
into bankruptcy and shut down unless Zvartnots Airport changes its
price policy, said owner of national air carrier Mikhail Baghdasarov.
`If we don't come to an agreement we will declare bankruptcy, return
the air-tickets, sell the airplanes and settle the debts,' said
Baghdasarov. `If there is someone to buy the company, I will
delightfully sell it.' Earlier Russan media outlets issued statement
that Moscow resident Harutyun Pambukyan has proposed to Armavia's
owner Mikhail Baghdasarov $55 million, however news about sale at
that time were denied.
