GASOLINE PRICES SOAR IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN. - The gasoline prices have begun to rise in Armenia's capital,
Yerevan, and they increased by AMD 10 (approx. $0.02) on Wednesday.
In line with the National Statistical Service data, gasoline prices in
Armenia dropped this June and July, by 1.9 and 2 percent respectively.
But, still, they are 4.3 percent more expensive than in July 2011.
Instead, the price for pumping natural gas into vehicles has reduced
by close to 5 percent, and on a twelve-month basis.
Armenia's cheapest gasoline is sold at Yerevan's gas stations, as
the average price for a liter of gasoline is AMD 476.6 (approx. $1.16)
And one cubic meter of natural gas is pumped into the vehicles at
around AMD 180-200 (approx. 44-49 cents).
