ANNOUNCEMENT OF 'PEOPLE OF KAPAN DETERMINE FUTURE OF KAPAN' INITIATIVE

On September 9 two candidates will run in the local election in Kapan,
Artur Atayan, ARF and Ashot Hayrapetyan, RPA.
Recent developments worry the citizens of Kapan, especially members
of the initiative. The problem is not what candidates and their teams
will tell each other.The problem is that foreigners are involved in
Kapan's political process.
On September 2 during the campaign of ARF member Artur Atayan and
Canadian Dundee Precious Metals Company's Kapan Deno Gold Mining
Company are organizing a concert of Tata Simonyan. We are not worried
about the fact that Artur Atayan the member of ARF organizes Tata
Simonyan's show (this is part of the campaign) but we think in this
stage it is unacceptable that a foreign company provides financial
assistance to a candidate.
People of Kapan Determine Future of Kapan initiative demands that the
Canadian Dundee Precious Metals Company owned Kapan Deno Gold Mining
Company's administration avoid any form of financial or other support
to any of the candidates, otherwise we will view it as an issue of
national security.
