ARMENIA'S SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS TO BE DISTRIBUTED AT NO COST - NEWSPAPER

YEREVAN. - During Wednesday's consultation with the public schools of
Armenia's Gegharkunik Region, Education and Science Minister Armen
Ashotyan stated that all junior school textbooks will be given to
the students free of charge, Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily reports.
"Speaking to the school principals attending the consultation, the
Minister said: 'From now on, all school textbooks, including foreign
language textbooks which used to be given upon payment, must be given
to the schoolchildren at no cost. The Education and Science Ministry
will carry out a constant control in this regard.'
The Minister [also] reminded that the specialists with vocational
education will no longer be able to work at public schools as of 2018.
'They have six year's time during which to receive the necessary
qualification.'
[And] The teachers' training process, which started last year, will
come to an end in 2016," Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun quotes the Minister
as saying.
