CHAIRMAN OF AZERBAIJANI COMMUNITY OF NAGORNO KARABAKH MEETS EU SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR SOUTH CAUCASUS

Baku - APA. Chairman of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh
Bayram Safarov met with European Union's special representative for
the South Caucasus Philip Lefort. The community told APA that first
Safarov spoke about the history of the conflict and its dissensions
for Azerbaijan and the region. He informed the EU representative that
the international organizations, engaging in the solution process
of this problem for 20 years, use double standards and don't show
decisive position towards the settlement of the conflict. Therefore,
Safarov expressed his confidence that the conflict would be solved
with ensuring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in accordance
with the international norms in the near future.
In his turn, expressing his gratitude being in Baku and meeting with
the representatives of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh,
Lefort noted that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict was most interesting
issue for the EU. The EU recognizes the territorial integrity of
Azerbaijan and territorial integrity of every country, including
Azerbaijan is inviolability. According to him, the EU supports the
peaceful settlement of the conflict and it is necessary to continue
the negotiations in this sphere. At the same time, Lefort underlined
the importance of intercommunity dialogues for the acceleration of
settlement process of the conflict.
