`European friends of Armenia' welcomes negotiations with EU and rebukes Turkey

    20:39, 30 November, 2012

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS: `European friends of Armenia'
organization deeply welcomes the `ambitious' agenda which is today
being discussed by Armenia and EU and according to which the
negotiations over the new Association Agreement will be concluded till
the next summit of Eastern Partnership held in Vilnius.

This was noted in the message Armenpress was provided with by
    `European friends of Armenia' organization.

`Moreover, European Commission President Manuel Barroso has noted in
the interview before the second summit of EPP Eastern Partnership
leaders that Armenia-EU relations have already deepened. There is a
noticeable progress in the negotiations of Association agreement which
will ensure political relations and European integration of Armenia. 3
stages of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area have already been
completed in frames of negotiations which are ongoing from July.
Thanks to this agreement the potential volume of goods exported to the
EU from Armenia will increase for 30 percent.

This is a very efficient and reasonable chance both for Armenia and
EU. We hope that presidential elections held in February will bring to
the beginning of these changes and then the government will direct its
efforts to the implementation process. Armenia needs it and it doesn't
have time to delay' was noted in the statement.

`What is about the regional stability and security, conclusions of
Parliamentary Cooperation Committee noted the need of peaceful
settlement of NKR conflict in frames of OSCE Minsk Group basic
principles. Peaceful settlement of NKR conflict in frames of main
principals is an important investment for the universal peace and
    stability.'

The document underlined that common viewpoint of Armenia and EU over
the preplanned opening of airport in Nagorno-Karabakh `welcomes all
the statements promoting the peaceful settlement of the conflict and
reminds that taking into account the opening of Nagorno-Karabakh
airport, Co-Chairs of OSCE Minsk Group have numerously received
guarantees that in accordance with the international law they deny any
threat against civil aircrafts or will avoid the use of force and
involving this issue in political context.'

On the resolution of Armenian-Turkish relations the document urges
Turkey to fulfill its obligations due to the agreement signed in
    Zurich in 2009.
