    Armenia's foreign trade in ten months grows by 3.4 percent


    YEREVAN, November 30. / ARKA /. Armenia's foreign trade in
    January-October this year saw a 3.4 percent increase from a year
    earlier to over $4.603.1 billion, according to latest numbers,
    released today by the National Statistical Service of Armenia
    (ArmStat).

    According to official data, exports grew by 7.3 percent to $1.166
    billion and imports by 2.1 percent to $3.4371 billion. The resulting
    trade gap amounted to $2.271.1 billion. According to preliminary data,
    the trade deficit in FOB prices amounted to $ 1.741.8 billion
    According to the statistical report, Armenia's exports were dominated
    by mining industry products -$332.8 million, a 1.4 percent drop from a
    year earlier, non-precious metals and items - $282.1 million, a 7.7
    percent decline, finished foods -$196.2 million, a 44.8% growth,
    precious and semiprecious stones, precious metals and jewellery -
    $139.4 million, a 12.8% drop and aerial, ground and water vehicles
    -$53.3 million, a double growth from the year before.

    The country's imports were dominated by mining industry's products
    ($734 million, a 13.9 percent rise), machinery and equipment -$474.9
    million (a 2 percent rise ), land, aerial and water vehicles -$271.4
    million, no change from a year earlier, finished foods - $271.4
    million, a 9.6 percent growth and plant products -$218.7 million, an
