YEREVAN. - Starting directs talks with the leadership of the
Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will be of sign of official Baku's readiness
to achieve results in the negotiation process, Armenia's Deputy FM
Shavarsh Kocharyan told Novosti-Armenia News Agency commenting on
Azerbaijan's statement with respect to its readiness to continue with
the Karabakh peace talks.
`As long as Baku has illusions that the essence of the settlement of
the Karabakh problem is the elimination of the consequences of the
aggression which itself incited, continues its racist anti-Armenian
hysteria, [and] obstructs the mediators' efforts to create a climate
of trust between the conflicting parties, such statements are nothing
but Azerbaijan's yet another uncouth attempt at covering up its true
intentions toward the preservation of the status quo,' Kocharyan
noted.
