Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's remark on TV serial 'The
Wonderful Era' has become a hot topic of discussion in Turkey. Erdogan
complained that the historical characters in the film do not give a
true picture of ancient Turks.
Ayse Kadioglu, Professor of Political Science at Sabanci University,
gave an interview on the matter to Turkish daily Milliyet.
When asked if she believes that one day the Armenians will also be
characterized as the ancestors of the people that lived in these
lands, Kadioglu stated, "For this moment I can say that I do not
believe in it. But as for the future, I would like it to be just this
way. Currently it looks like a far dream, but I think we can and must
think of it. Because ancestors are determined not only by kin. We
should thoroughly study the people who lived in this geographic area."
