YEREVAN SUBWAY SYSTEM TO GET 15 MILLION EURO FUNDING

YEREVAN.- Armenian capital's underground will get 15 million euro for
the second renovation stage kicking off next September, Yerevan subway
system Director General Paylak Yayloyan told reporters on Wednesday.
The funds will be used for the reconstruction of the drainage tunnel,
installation of new pumps, upgrading the cable network. A new drainage
tunnel, designed 15 years ago, will be completed.
The second phase of reconstruction, like the first one, will be funded
equally by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the
European Investment Bank and the EU - five million each. Funds will
be allocated within the framework of Neighbourhood Investment Facility.
