ELECTRICAL NETWORKS OF ARMENIA PLANS TO CHANNEL 26 BILLION DRAMS IN 2013-2015 INTO SYSTEMS UPGRADING

YEREVAN, December 4. / ARKA /. The Russian-owned Electrical Networks
of Armenia (ENA), a company that owns and runs Armenia's power
distribution networks, said its investment program for 2013-2015 may
    reach 26.4 billion drams.

According to the investment program, submitted in November to the
Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC), the program is designed
to improve the quality of supplied electricity and to connect new
    subscribers to the network.

The company plans to channel 9.7 billion drams next year into ensuring
safe use of electricity, reducing the instances of voltage deviation
and operation of distribution networks. Some 8.4 billion drams will
be spent on the same goals in 2014 and 8.3 billion drams in 2015.

The investment program is divided into several target areas, including
restoration, construction and acquisition of distribution networks,
connecting new subscribers to the power grid, modernization of the
accounting system, repair of office buildings and auxiliary facilities,
purchase of computer hardware, accessories, licenses and software
packages, office equipment, furniture, tools, special vehicles and
related equipment, as well as ensuring the safety of substations.

Electrical Networks of Armenia (ENA) owns and manages Armenia's
medium and low voltage networks. It is also the exclusive seller of
electrical power in Armenia, and is owned fully by Russian Inter RAO
UES. It has some 950,000 consumers. -0-
