EDWARD NALBANDIAN PARTICIPATED IN CIS FOREIGN MINISTERS COUNCIL SITTING

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs
Edward Nalbandian participated in the Foreign Ministers Council
sitting of Commonwealth of Independent States which took place in
Ashgabat on December 4.
As Armenpress was informed from the press, informational and public
relations department of Armenian MFA, the agenda of the council
consisted from more than 10 issues over the multilateral cooperation
within CIS members as well as the documents which would be on the
discussion during December 5 summit of CIS Head of States.
Foreign Ministers mainly discussed the project of CIS draft declaration
on further development of all-round cooperation. The Council of the
Ministers also referred to some cooperation issues in humanitarian,
environmental, security and anti-terrorism spheres. Some other issues
concerning the project on the preparation for celebration of the 70th
anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War ' (1941-1945)
were also discussed.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with
Konstantin Grishchenko the Minister of Ukraine, which would take the
presidency of CIS in 2013. Interlocutors discussed the results of the
recent sitting of Armenian-Ukrainian interparliamentary committee as
well as the steps which should be taken for the further development
of the bilateral relations. Ministers Nalbandian and Grishchenko
referred to the agenda of OSCE Foreign Ministers Council meeting
which will take place in Dublin on December 6-7.
