AMERIA ADVISORY GROUP COMPLETES DEVELOPMENT OF COURT, MONITORING SERVICE PROJECT
YEREVAN, December 5. / ARKA /. Commissioned by Armenia's ministry
of justice's office overseeing implementation of judicial reforms
financed by a World Bank loan America advisory firm is developing
'Courts Monitoring Service' project and as part of which it has
developed a relating methodology, America said in a press release.
"The aim of the project is to introduce a Court Monitoring Service
system in Armenia, which will allow based on the common methodology,
to monitor the courts and the judicial system," it said in the press
release.
According to the press release, this will allow to increase the
efficiency of courts, to ensure their transparency and accountability,
to provide access to court information, which will strengthen public
confidence in the judicial system.
The methodology developed by America in view of peculiarities of
Armenian judicial system and best international practice, will become
the main methodological instrument for monitoring of courts.
According to Tigran Grigoryan, chief research specialist of Ameria,
the project consists of several stages.
"At this stage a training will be conducted for all interested parties,
including media representatives, to present the methodology," he said.
In the next phase a pilot monitoring will be conducted, the results
of which will be made available to all interested parties.
