Armenia's Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) resumed its operations
and was again connected to the country's electricity grid, the Energy
and Natural Resources Ministry informs. The operations were resumed
on November 27.
To note, the electricity production at NPP was suspended on September
15 to carry out a complete overhaul, install safety measures, and
conduct refueling.
To note, a complete overhaul is carried out at the plant once every
four years. Unlike a planned overhaul, which is conducted every year,
a complete overhaul requires a much longer period of time because,
in this case, the reactor fuel is emptied completely and several key
works are carried out at the nuclear plant.
