Prosperous Armenia party will state about the format of its
participation in the upcoming presidential election in a very near
future, spokesperson for the party's leader Iveta Tonoyan told Tert.am.
"Mr Tsarukyan will very transparently and publicly make the statement
in the coming days. By the way, I am speaking about a very near future,
in one-two days," the leader's spokesperson said, asked why Tsarukyan
has not made the statement upon his return from Brussels, as promised,
and why the PAP's political council's sitting did not take place.
According to media outlets Gagik Tsarukyan has decided not to run
for presidency. Today, citing its PAP sources, 168zham.am reports
that the party's leader has decided not to run for presidency. The
media says Tsarukyan has informed its close circles that he does
not want to run for presidency 'as it will cause a war, new March 1,
new victims'. It is also reported that the PAP leader has offered to
"strengthen the party and get prepared for the 2017 parliamentary
and 2018 presidential elections."
