KOCHARYAN DOESN'T YIELD EVEN IF HE IS LEFT ALONE
    HAKOB BADALYAN

    Story from Lragir.am News:

Though Robert Kocharyan used to state that Prosperous Armenia Party
already has a team which is able to define a political agenda,
it still cannot resolve the issue of the PAP participation in the
elections. Gagik Tsarukyan keeps delaying his decision, trying to
deny Kocharyan's statements on the existence of the team in the PAP
hinting that the only person to make decisions is Tsarukyan himself.

In the meantime, Tsarukyan has met with Serzh Sargsyan. ARF which
is also considered one of tհe pro-Kocharyan parties has also met
with Sargsyan though the ARF leadership is "pro-economic interest"
    which recognizes guarantees not "individuals".

Robert Kocharyan has been left alone. In this context, Kocharyan's
analysis posted on his unofficial website about the vision of the
second president on the future of the country which remained unfinished
and Kocharyan will be back one day, is interesting.

Robert Kocharyan does not want to yield even though he is left alone.

He seems to hint to the ARF and Gagik Tsarukyan that he will be back
with or without them but it will take some time. Kocharyan is betrayed
by the Armenian National Congress which has come to terms with the
RPA, recalled the ad-hoc committee for March 1 to be discussed in
one year. If necessary, the ANC will again agree with the RPA to
postpone the motion for another year and this issue will be hanging
over Kocharyan's head as the sword of Damocles.

Everyone has turned their backs to Kocharyan, perhaps except Vartan
Oskanian on whose head the NSS "criminal case" is hanging. Apparently,
the government is convinced that it can "convert" everyone but
not Oskanian. For Robert Kocharyan who has almost been left alone
Oskanian's factor becomes the axis. So, it is necessary that the
former foreign minister leaves the Prosperous Armenia Party if Gagik
    Tsarukyan does not leave.

In this sense, Tsarukyan's nomination is expedient for Vartan
Oskanian. After the presidential election, Oskanian will have the
chance, if brave enough, to accuse Tsarukyan of entering into a deal
with the government or of political short-sightedness. He may leave
the PAP forming a new political force which will be Robert Kocharyan's
    firm support.

Consequently, for this reason, the government keeps refreshing the
"criminal case" against Oskanian. The shield of the ex-foreign
minister may be Kocharyan with his direct and public participation
    in the political processes.

Even if he has no human feelings towards his ally Oskanian, even if
he does not yield under the prospect of appearing behind bars with
Oskanian, it will still be inevitable for Kocharyan to enter into the
game because he has no other option besides Oskanian but only himself.
