YEREVAN. - Armenian Parliament on Tuesday launched the discussion on
the issue of forming the Parliament Committee on Ethics in the snap
session by second reading.
The bill co-author Arpine Hovhannisyan said that it is reviewed
and corresponds to the current political situation. In particular,
she claimed that a point is set according to which a political party
should declare of being an opposition or not. If such a statement is
not made that political power receives one place in the Committee.
Besides, the opposition has a right to veto and the decision may
be passed even if one representative either opposition or authority
votes for.
Opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP Artsvik Minasyan said that they
will quit the Committee if the bill adopted, as it can no longer
work productively.
Another opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) MP and the
incumbent Committee Chairman Nikol Pashinyan claimed he would quit
his office.
