Presidential election in Armenia should lead to change of power,
otherwise ARFD's participation in it will be senseless, Armen
Rustamyan, Head of the ARFD Parliamentary Faction, told media, Tuesday.
In response to ArmInfo's question, Rustamyan said that the final
decision on participation in the presidential election will be adopted
at the Supreme Assembly of the party on December 25. Rustamyan
considers the talks on his nomination for president groundless:
"Such decisions are adopted by the Supreme Assembly and I cannot make
any forecasts now."
He said that participation in the upcoming election is not an end
in itself for ARFD. Asked if the candidate of the ruling Republican
Party has any serious rival, Rustamyan said that RPA is using all
the state levers and in such situation it is at least naive speaking
of competition. "Political forces must have equal opportunities,
but they haven't, " he said.
