NEWSPAPER: IT SMELLS WITH RIOT AT ARMENIAN POLICE

It became known overnight that two detective officers of the Criminal
Investigation, Central District Police Office, had been detained.
Afterwards, some 60 officers of the same Office sent in their
resignation as a sign of protest, a Yerevan-based Haykakan Zhamanak
Daily reports.
"To verify the information, our correspondent applied to Police Press
Secretary Ashot Aharonyan. He refuted the reports on resignations
and advised applying to the Special Investigation Service to verify
the above information. Nevertheless, we have managed to find out
the names of the detained officers: Khachik and Artak. We could not
verify the reason of their detention as it was too late an hour,"
the paper writes.
