NO OTHER OPTION. ASSISTING SYRIAN ARMENIANS IS THE DUTY OF ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT. SERZH SARGSYAN

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS: President Serzh Sargsyan hosted a
number of Armenian businessmen from Syria. Armenian Prime Minister
Tigran Sargsyan, Ministers of Diaspora and Economy as well other
responsible and state figures partook at the meeting.
As Armenpress was informed from the presidential press office, at the
beginning of the meeting President highlighted that he was aware of
the ties and meetings Syrian Armenian businessmen had with Armenian
representatives, nevertheless, he considered reasonable to meet them
personally and once again represent our country's position on the
situation in Syria, our assistance to Syrian Armenians as well as to
get acquainted with the projects and doings of our Syrian compatriots.
Businessmen clarified from the President the opportunities of
transferring their business to motherland, economic situation in
Armenia, possibilities of investments and other details concerning
current issues. Relevant state agencies received instructions from
the President on finding solutions to the issues businessmen were
interested in and expressed willing to support any initiative.
At the end of the meeting Serzh Sargsyan urged not to express gratitude
for Armenia's assistance to Syrian Armenians as that was the duty of
Armenian government.
"Anyways Armenian government will take care of the issues of Syrian
Armenians. There is no doubt and no option. That is the duty of Armenia
government and the better we do our duty the better is for all of us,"
President noted.
Head of State wished patience and willingness to all our compatriots
bringing the example of personal experience and the experiences of
other families during Artsakh war. "This challenge will be also
overcome, our people should be able to display and demonstrate
unique willingness and we will spare no effort to assist," Serzh
Sargsyan said.
