    PACE TO DISCUSS ISSUES OF AZERBAIJANI POLITICAL PRISONERS AND HONORING OF OBLIGATIONS IN JANUARY

    YEREVAN, DECEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS: Two reports on Azerbaijan will be
    discussed during the plenary session of Parliamentary Assembly of
    Council of Europe held in January 2013. That is an unprecedented
    decision for Strasbourg as for the first time of PACE history two
    reports on a single country will be discussed. As reports Armenpress
    referring to Azerbaijani press, the report on the honoring of
    obligations and commitments by Azerbaijan has been included into
    the agenda of the winter session of Parliamentary Assembly of the
    Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg on January 21-25. The report
    made by co-rapporteurs Pedro Agramunt and Joseph Debono Grech and
    "The follow-up to the issue of political prisoners in Azerbaijan" by
    Christoph Strasser will be discussed on January 23. The agenda of the
    winter session also includes election of President and Vice-Presidents
    of PACE, the situation in Kosovo, the activities of the European Bank
    for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), report "Georgia and Russia:
    the humanitarian situation in the conflict- and war-affected areas",
    the state of media freedom in Europe, gender equality, trafficking
    of migrant workers for forced labor.
