Settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict discussed at EU-Russia summit

Baku. Victoria Dementeva - APA. The situation in the South Caucasus
and the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict have been disused
at the EU-Russia summit in Brussels today, said EU president Herman
Van Rompuy at the press briefing on the outcomes of the summit.
`It is particularly important to address the protracted conflicts. I
also raised the importance of moving forward in the `5+2' talks on the
conflict in Transnistria and expressed concerns regarding developments
in Ngorno-Karabakh.'
The EU president said that by working together, the EU and Russia can
make a decisive contribution to global governance and regional
conflict resolution, to global economic governance in the G 8 and G
20, and to a broad range of international and regional issues. The EU
was represented by EU president Herman Van Rompuy and European
Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso and Russia by President
Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
