BUS IMPORT WILL SOLVE TRANSPORTATION PROBLEM IN YEREVAN. DEPUTY MAYOR
20:37, 26 December, 2012
YEREVAN, DECEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS: Number of minibus routes in Yerevan
has greatly declined; therefore this means of transport cannot be
completely eliminated. This was noted by Yerevan Deputy Mayor Kamo
Areyan during interview with journalists on December 26.
"Streets and relief of our capital don't allow large buses to drive
residents wherever they want," Armenpress reports Deputy Mayor said.
Areyan informed there were 3220 minibuses in Yerevan in 2005, and
in 2012-only 1980. "The only way to solve transportation issue is
the import of big buses," Deputy Mayor assures. According to him 18
buses will be imported in January.
Referring to landscaping Kamo Areyan noted new gardens occupying
about 5 hectares have been created only in first half of 2012. In
his words a great number of playgrounds have been also built.
