SHARING OF POWER PIE MAY BECOME A SERIOUS TRAIL FOR THE INCUMBENT PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA IF HE GAINS A VICTORY AT THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, REPRESENTATIVE OF "HERITAGE" THINKS

President Serzh Sargsyan has managed to weaken his opponents on the
threshold of the forthcoming presidential election, but there are
numerous factors which are loosening the positions of the power itself,
representative of the Heritage party, ex-deputy of the parliament
Stepan Safaryan said at today's press-conference.

He thinks that the refusal of the leader of Prosperous Armenia
Party, Gagik Tsarukyan, and later the leader of the Armenian National
Congress, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, to run for president have played into
the hands of the incumbent president, and the inconsistency of all
the rest opposition forces also play into hands of the president.

"However, one should take into consideration that the authorities
managed to delay an unavoidable collision for a certain period of time,
they temporarily put out a fire which will break out again. The point
is that by gaining a victory over their opponents in some sense,
at the same time the authorities have found themselves in a very
difficult situation linked with a dilemma: either rapprochement with
EU or joining the integration projects offered by Moscow...And very
soon they will demand from rmenia to determine - either to the West
    or East", - Safaryan said.

He also added that except external challenges, there is also a
threat to the internal stability of Serzh Sargsyan's team, as today
the disagreements with the RPA linked with sharing of the power pie
after the presidential election are obvious.
