TRAFFIC RESTORED IN UPPER LARS-KAZBEGI CHECKPOINT

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Upper Lars-Kazbegi checkpoint has
been opened and the trucks coming to Armenia have already started
their route. The drivers, which were stuck in the Upper Lars-Kazbegi
checkpoint, stated that due to the favorable whether conditions
cleaning of the roads became possible. One of the passengers Aram
Khachaturyan stated: "About 300 trucks and automobiles start one by
one. The whether conditions are rather favorable. Everything is going
on in accordance with the predictions of the synopticians."
Upper Lars-Kazbegi checkpoint was closed, which caused traffic jam.
Passengers of about 200 trucks and vehicles were compelled to spent
night in the checkpoint. Snow and hurricane did not cease, hence it
was impossible to start cleaning of the road from snow.
