Given the taxes paid to the state budget, the notary officers are
coming out of "shadow", and the lawyers dodge taxes. This stems from
Armenian Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan's speech at the Government.
When summing up the results of 2012, the minister said that over
Jan-Nov 2012 a total of 83 notary officers paid taxes worth 370 mln
AMD to the state budget of Armenia against 325 mln AMD in 2011. "In
the meantime, the notary transactions declined, and the tariffs
underwent no changes throughout the year, so this demonstrates the
decline in the shadow turnover", he said. He added that the lawyers
reduced their payments to the state budget and, as a rule, they do not
register their activity in order not to pay any taxes.
