GYUMRI MAYOR TRANSFERS THE SUM FOR TBILISI APARTMENT OF ARMENIAN POET HOVHANNES TUMANYAN

GYUMRI, FEBRUARY 16, ARMENPRESS: Mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan
and his brother have transferred the price necessary for purchasing
the Tbilisi apartment of the all-Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan,
spokesperson for the Gyumri municipality Lilit Aghekyan told Armenpress
correspondent. "Ghukasyan brothers are committed to their promise
and paid the demanded money. It is a matter of honor," he said.
Earlier, Chairman of Writers Union of Armenia Levon Ananyan told
Armenpress, the owner of the apartment Archil Lezhava demanded 145
thousand USD. Ghukasyan brothers agreed to pay the sum. The transaction
will be conducted on February 22 after which the apartment will pass
to the Armenian side.
