The Azerbaijani army's military drills on the borderline are aimed at
producing a psychological impact on Armenia, according to a military
expert.
At a news conference on Thursday, Artsrun Hovhannisyan said the current
exercises on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border might be advantageous
to the country in this period of winter.
"Conducting exercises in cold weather is necessary for Azerbaijan
because the experience of a winter battle turned out harsh for the
country," he said.
The expert did not rule out the possibility of a political context
behind the drills but did not consider them preparatory trainings
ahead of a plotted war with Armenia.
