On January 19 discussion took place under the chairmanship of South
Africa at the UN Security Council. Armenian Permanent representative
to the UN Karen Nazaryan delivered a speech during the session,
press service of Armenian President informs.
He noted in his speech that Armenia rates international law principles
and the protection of security and human rights. He also noted that
the ignorance of nations' self-determination brings to the regional
conflicts. Karen Nazaryan also noted that the protection of the
humanitarian right is important for the law supervision both during
the conflict and after-conflict situations.
K.Nazaryan underlined that protection of the civilian population if
very important. Ambassador Nazaryan referred to issue of unpunished
situation and welcomed the UN attitude to it. He noted that the UN
SC continued struggling against unpunished reality.
According to the speaker UN SC tried to make the responsible
countries to take responsibility for the crimes made by them. UN
General Secretary and representatives of more than forty countries
delivered speeches as well.
