Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan
expressed a readiness to speed up negotiations on the principles of
settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The presidents held trilateral
talks with Russian Leader Dmitry Medvedev in Sochi today and passed
a joint declaration, RIA Novosti reports.

Aliyev and Sargsyan gave Russia and other co-chairs of the OSCE
Minsk Group (France and US) support in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict. They expressed hope that the co-chairs would be more active
in reaching peace and stability in the region.

Aliyev and Medvedev confirmed that one of the measures in the peace
process is activation of humanitarian contacts. The Azerbaijani
and Armenian presidents stated readiness to improve dialogue with
    intelligence, sciences and social organizations.

The three presidents took the report of the OSCE co-chairs into
account. The report was developed by the co-chairs and personal
representative of the OSCE. It contains information on investigations
    along the contact line.

The leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia noted the volume of
work done to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict since the first
trilateral meeting on November 2, 2008.
