BRITISH AEROSPACE COMPANY NOT TO SERVE SEPARATIST NAGORNO KARABAKH'S AIRPORT

The British AeroSpace (BAE) Systems Asset Management (now Falko),
previously part of BAE Systems Company, will not supply the new
airport of separatist Nagorno Karabakh's airport with aircrafts,
the company's representative David Dorman told Trend.

Armenian media previously reported that the separatist Nagorno
Karabakh's airport will be serviced by aircrafts produced by British
    AeroSpace Company.

"I can categorically state that these reports are totally false,"
Dorman said. "At no time has the previous BAE Systems company or
the new Falko company sold or leased any of its aircraft into either
Azerbaijan or Armenia or separatist Nagorno-Karabakh."

He added that there are "absolutely no sales discussions going on
    between these territories and Falko".

But, Dorman mentioned that there are plenty of third-party sellers
and lessors of these aircraft in the market and neither BAE Systems
nor Falko have any control over where these other parties may sell
    or lease aircraft.

He said independent aircraft movement database organization Ascend
Worldwide does not have any record of BAE Systems-built aircraft in
service in any of these territories.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988
when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian
armed forces have occupied 20 per cent of Azerbaijan since 1992,
including the Nagorno- Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The
co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. -
are currently holding the peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four
resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the
    surrounding regions.
