"UCOM" TENNIS TOURNAMENT LAUNCHED IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, JULY 2, ARMENPRESS: "Ucom" men's professional tennis
tournament launched in Yerevan on July 2nd , with the participation
of athletes from Armenia, Russia, Poland, Austria, Belarus, Ukraine,
Slovakia, Georgia and other countries. World-class referee of Armenian
tennis Grigor Davtyan informed Armenpress, that this tournament is
the first professional tennis tournament, which is held in Armenia,
with the support of the International Tennis Federation.
Davtyan assured that the tournament will greatly assist Armenian
tennis players in acquiring a professional experience and it is not
accidental that "the athlete must have a corresponding rate for taking
part in the tournament". In case of a successful performance in the
tournament the participant receives a great opportunity to improve
the positions in the international tennis rankings.
Members of Armenian tennis men's national team Khachatur Khachatryan
and Ashot Gevorgyan will represent Armenia in this tournament . They
will take part in individual and pairs competitions.
The final stage of the tournament will be held on July 7, at the
"Fitness" Sports Club of Yerevan. The tournament fund is 15 000
Dollars.
