AUTO INSURANCE-RELATED COMPLAINTS ARE ON THE RISE IN ARMENIA - FINANCIAL ARBITRATOR

YEREVAN. - Office of the Financial System Arbitrator of Armenia
already received 160 written complaints so far in 2012, in the case
when a total of 144 such complaints were received throughout 2011,
financial arbitrator Piruz Sargsyan stated during a briefing with
news reporters on Monday.
She said this increase is conditioned on the mandatory automobile
insurance system.
"This is a new tool. There are new volumes, new clients. That is why
the mandatory auto insurance complaints are numerous," said Sargsyan.
As a result, the citizens complained more about insurance companies
in 2012, whereas the majority of last year's complaints were on
commercial banks.
Piruz Sargsyan also informed that close to 71.8 percent of the
complaints is resolved in favor of the client and most of them are
settlement cases.
