ARMENIA REGISTERS PROGRESS IN THE FIELD OF CONSUMER RIGHT PROTECTION

YEREVAN, JULY 2, ARMENPRESS: Current year World Bank launches "Consumer
protection and financial literacy" studies. The aim of the program
is to identify the existing issues and develop ways to solve them
effectively, Armenpress reports.
As deputy head of Armenian Central Bank Nerses Eritsyan stated ,
the issues on the protection of financial system consumer rights are
being discussed at the global level, high evaluating the importance
of Raising awareness.
"Armenian Central Bank did not exempt from all that and embarked a
series of events since 2007 creating Consumers' Rights Protection and
Market Conduct Department , establishing Financial System Mediator
Office" Eritsyan noted.
In the words of the interlocutor financial educational national
strategy is being established which uniting the efforts of all the
stakeholders, is aimed to promote the efficiency of the measures
taken in financial education.
World Bank consultant Thomas Pruzan presenting the studies stated that
in accordance with the preliminary results Armenia has registered
considerable success in protection of financial services consumer
rights.
