Seventeen cases of causing bodily injuries by juveniles have been
registered in Armenia June 2012, deputy head of Police Criminal
Investigation Department Nelly Duryan told the reporters today.

She said in six out of 17 cases the bodily injuries were caused with
    edge tool.

According to her, in summer the violations by juveniles usually grow
in number due to less business. "The police keep the juveniles in
focus in public places, parks and gardens. But the parents should
be watchful and see what their children are taking with them out,"
    Nelly Duryan said.

Asked whether the violence scenes on TV result in the grow of number
of crimes committed by juveniles, the top police official said:
"The Police have been warning about the bad psychological effect of
violence propagated by TV still long before. The crimes committed by
juveniles are very often repetition of scenarios of the films." She
noted that they are meeting with children's parents, urging them to
prohibit children from watching films propagating violence.

Nelly Duryan refuted the information that the violations are registered
by socially insecure children only. "There are children living in
extreme poverty but they do not commit crimes," she said.

The police official said the children committing crimes have been
left out of parents' attention. "Children should be taken to sports,
be occupied with what they like," she explained.
