    "Let there be light" award will be awarded for the first time at
    `Golden Apricot'

    YEREVAN , JULY 3, ARMENPRESS: In the framework of 9th international
    Yerevan film festival `Golden Apricot' a special prize will be awarded
    for illustrating the spiritual, cultural and humanitarian values and
    for bringing a significant contribution to the global film studio.
    According to Armenpress, the prize was called "Let there be light" /
    `Eghitci Luys', and it is defined by the Armenian Apostolic Church.
    The director of film festival Harutyun Khachatryan informed Armenpress
    during the press conference, that the prize will be awarded to a
    famous Russian film director Alexander Sokurov. `When he realized the
    aim of his arrival to Armenia, he was too excited'- said Khachatryan
    One of modern famous film director Alexander Sokurov, was born in
    Russia, in 1951. The author of about 20 documentary films is known
    especially for feature films. His fame was increased after the
    collapse of USSR, when his films were awarded prizes of Cannes,
    Berlin, Locarno, Moscow, Toronto, Venice and other European first
    class film festivals. The prize will award His Holiness Karekin II,
    Catholicos of All Armenians.
