A suicide attempt by a German girl prevented in Yerevan

Photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan informed yerkirmedia.am that at about
10:30am the crisis management centre of the ministry of emergency
situations received a report that a woman is sitting at the window
sill on the third floor of 9, Garegin Nzhdeh building and is moving
back and forth in a strange way. The callers said the woman, probably,
wants to commit a suicide.
The group of the crisis management center on duty, as well as the
special rescue unit rescuers left for the scene.
The police and rescuers managed to enter the mentioned flat without
being noticed and catch the woman from behind. Later she told the
police and rescuers she is a German citizen, Ira Timmerman, 27. She
assured it is accepted in their country to sit on the window sill and
listen to music.
