Primate Visits Deacons' Training Program Participants

Diocesan Primate Archbishop Khajag Barsamian visited St. Nersess
Armenian Seminary on Thursday, June 28, to spend time with
    participants
in the seminary's Deacons' Training Program.

Archbishop Barsamian joined the young men during a Bible study
    session,
and spoke to them about last month's young adult pilgrimage to the
    Holy
Land. An engaging discussion followed. The Primate encouraged the
participants to uphold their dedication to the Armenian Church when
they return to their home parishes.

The Deacons' Training Program teaches altar servers the deacons'
    chants
of the Divine Liturgy and other services, and helps them explore
    the
meaning of Armenian Church rituals. The program is directed by the
    Very
Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan, seminary dean.

Interns from Armenian Mission to the UN Visit Diocese

Three young people interning at the Armenian Mission to the United
Nations visited the Diocesan Center and met with Diocesan Primate
Archbishop Khajag Barsamian on Friday, June 29.

The interns-Seda Kojoyan of Washington, D.C., Movses Musaelian of New

Garen Nazarian, Armenia's Ambassador to the UN.

They are the first group of interns working at the Armenian Mission
this summer. A second group of young people will arrive next

program introduces students to the work of the Armenian Mission and
gives them an opportunity to learn about foreign policy issues
    affecting Armenia today.

The interns were received by Archbishop Barsamian in the tahlij
    (formal
reception room) of the Diocese. Archbishop Barsamian spoke to them
about the history of the Eastern Diocese and the determination of its
founders to preserve the Armenian faith and culture in America. He
encouraged the interns to embrace their Armenian identity and to share
    their heritage with others.
