EDWARD SHARMAZANOV: AZERBAIJANI SIDE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LACK OF PROGRESS IN THE TALKS

"The Azerbaijani side is fully responsible for the lack of progress in
the Nagorno Karabakh issue," Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National
Assembly Edward Sharmazanov said in response to the statement of the
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister.
Speaking at a joint press conference with OSCE Secretary General
Lamberto Zanier in Baku, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov
declared, in part: "If the Armenian armed forces are removed from
the occupied territories, there will not be the problem of either
snipers or armed incidents."
"Mr. Mammadyarov continues to distort the reality in a way peculiar
to the Azerbaijani leadership. The reality is as follows: as long as
Azerbaijan keeps some of the NKR territories (Getashen, Martunashen
and Shahumyan) occupied and its snipers periodically open fire at the
civilian population and even a kindergarten, the Azerbaijani side will
be fully responsible for the lack of progress in the negotiations
on the peace talks on the resolution of the Karabakh conflict,"
Sharmazanov said.
