    Russia

Russia's Federation Council delegation led by speaker Valentina
Matviyenko will visit Yerevan on Wednesday to discuss stronger
strategic partnership and development of interparliamentary relations.

Matviyenko is expected to meet with Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan
and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II and lay flowers at the
memorial to the 1915 Armenian genocide victims in the Ottoman Empire.

The two countries' parliamentarians plan to focus on deeper cooperation
at the parliamentary level, including modernization of the contractual
framework of Russian-Armenian interstate relations, harmonization
of national legislations within the framework of the CIS and the
    Collective Security Treaty Organization.

They will also consider new forms of cooperation in the context of
integration processes on the post-Soviet space.

"Relations of Russia and Armenia are characterized by a high level and
intensity of interparliamentary contacts, which play a significant
role in maintaining close relations of partnership between the two
countries," Matviyenko said on the eve of her visit to Yerevan.

Moscow and Yerevan are "interested in further strengthening and
    enhancing interparliamentary cooperation," she said.
