"These remarks came in response to state level statements by Azerbaijan
that withdrawal of snipers from the front line means strengthening
of the status quo," member of RPA parliamentary faction Karine
Achemyan told Panorama.am, commenting on OSCE Secretary General
Lamberto Zannier's statement that withdrawal of snipers and holding
investigation on the front line will not lead to strengthening of the
status quo, but will stabilize the situation and make it possible to
continue political talks.
"Indeed, withdrawal of snipers from the front line and investigation
of contact line incidents would stabilize the situation at the contact
line and would help the sides advance," Mrs. Achemyan noted.
The international community also realizes that there is no progress
in the negotiations because of lack of will on behalf of Azerbaijan,
the MP concluded.
