ARMENIAN CHURCH TO INCREASE PRESENCE IN NATIONAL ARMED FORCES

YEREVAN. - The Catholicos of Armenian Apostolic Church Garegin II
received five churchmen on Friday who were going to undertake a
religious service in Armenia's Armed Forces.
Religious leader of Armenian Armed Forces Vrtanes Bishop Abrahamyan
introduced the five churchmen to the Catholicos and spoke about the
religious service in Armenian army. Afterwards, the Catholicos blessed
the young churchmen.
"You are called to raise the spirit of Armenian soldiers and strengthen
their love towards the church and motherland. I ask you to be exemplary
persons for military servants and to make them understand that the
army is the guarantee of Armenian state and the existence of Armenian
people," said the Catholicos in his speech.
At present there are 48 churchmen in different military units of
Armenia.
