FRANCE INTENDS TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN TIES WITH ARMENIA. ANRY RENO

YEREVAN, JULY 14, ARMENPRESS: In connection with French National
Day, held on the anniversary of Bastille storming on 14 July, French
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Anry Reno
issued a statement .
" Bastille Day is celebrated since July 14 1880 as national holiday of
France. It symbolizes the transition from monarchy to Republic. The
universal values such as liberty, equality and fraternity still
currently are considered topical.
Each year, in connection with National Holiday Day, French Embassy in
Yerevan hosts Government members, parliamentarians, representatives
of the diplomatic corps, politics, art, economy and social spheres,
as well as the friends of Embassy" Anry Reno stated.
In his speech French Ambassador underscored, that current year July 14
is being celebrated with many changes. French people elected Francois
Holland in the post of French President in 5 -year-term at the course
of May 6 Presidential Elections and confirmed their choice during
Parliamentary elections accordingly taken place on July 10 and 17,
Armenpress reports.
Armenian Parliamentary Elections coincide with that of French
Presidential, which were the best ever held in the history of Armenia.
The Ambassador noted Armenia is facing Presidential Elections in 2013
February. Anry Reno expressed hope that coming elections will provide
an opportunity to Armenia for becoming more democratic, after which
Armenia will initiate deeper reforms.
In the words of the top diplomat France has intentions to strengthen
its ties with Armenia. Anry Reno also expressed conviction that
in coming future, Armenia will be able to live in more peaceful
environment and pro longed "borders" at last will be opened. French
efforts as Minsk Group Co- Chair country serve for the peaceful
settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,after which Armenia will
be able to use its potential for the development of civilization.
