HOLLANDE REJECTS FRENCH HISTORIAN'S CALL TO ABANDON ARMENIA GENOCIDE BILL

President of France Francois Hollande had a dinner with French
historians at Elysee Palace on July 6.
One of the issues discussed during the event with the participation of
prominent historians Colette Beaune, Michelle Perrot, Michel Winock,
Benjamin Stora, Jean-Francois Sirinelli, Jean-Noël Jeanneney, Pascal
Ory and Pierre Nora was the Armenian Genocide bill, Nouvelles d`Armenie
writes referring to L'Express magazine.
The magazine said historian Pierre Nora, known as supporter of genocide
denial, "tried to dissuade the President but in vain. Three days later
the President said he had not given up the idea of criminalizing the
denial of the Armenian Genocide."
