76-YEAR-OLD WOMAN IS STRANGLED TO DEATH IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN. - The body of an elderly woman was found dead at a home
in Nor Kharberd village of Armenia's Ararat Region. But Armenian
News-NEWS.am ascertained that the woman was actually killed in the
capital city Yerevan, but, subsequently, her dead body was transferred
to Nor Kharberd.
The dead woman is Goharik Gasparyan, 76, who was declared missing
since July 9, Police Press Service official Armen Malkhasyan told
Armenian News-NEWS.am.
He added that the police officers found out that Yerevan resident
Goharik Gasparyan was strangled to death by Samvel Gasparyan, 51,
who was previously convicted three times.
A criminal lawsuit is launched and Samvel Gasparyan is under arrest.
And according to some information, debt and demand matters were the
cause for the murder.
To note, even though the victim and the murder suspect have the same
surname, they are not related.
