19:18 . 17/07
The trial in the criminal case initiated against Deputy Commander of
RA Police Troops Vanik Manukyan for embezzlement of weapons will be
held behind closed doors.
The Court of Yerevan's Kentron and Nork Marash Administrative Districts
took such a decision, thus granting the motion of Vanik Manukyan's
defense lawyer Hasmik Papyan.
Taking into consideration that there are data on the amounts of
armament, weapons and ammunition, which refer to Armenia's national
security, the court decided to examine the case behind closed doors,
but the court's verdict will be publicised.
To recall, a charge was brought against Vanik Manukyan for embezzlement
of the property entrusted to him. According to the body of the
preliminary investigation, the police colonel has not only embezzled
property, but also ammunition and sold it and illegally purchased
and kept ammunition, and also allowed falsifications while holding
the post.
