ARMENIA ENVISAGES SYRIAN ARMENIANS APPLICATIONS WITH AN INTENSIVE PROCEDURE

YEREVAN, JULY 19, ARMENPRESS: The applications handed over by our
Syrian compatriots aimed at getting refugee or asylum status are
being discussed by accelerated procedure, within ten days.
As Armenpress reports Armenian Migration Agency Head Gagik Eganyan came
forth with a statement after July 19 Government session. 6 families
with overall 14 members have already handed over their applications,
reportedly their tasks were regulated. In the words of the interlocutor
the status of a refugee is given by an indefinite change.
The agency can provide about 20 families with shelter. "There is
a State Non - Commercial organization, where shelter seekers can
habit during the course of their applications discussions. Currently
there are 41 beds, the great part of which is already occupied"
Eganyan stated.
Taking into condition that the flow can grow, we are intended to
provide all the reserves to Syrian Armenians. In particular the agency
has a building in its disposal, comprising of 12-13 rooms, if needed
all dormitory rooms will be used for accommodate the refugees.
Over 16 months ongoing clashes have become tenser during the recent
days. The incidents resulted in the death of 6 Armenians.
